Viktigt meddelande till allmänheten (VMA)
Publicering: 2016-09-09Ett VMA kan utfärdas vid exempelvis stora bränder, utsläpp av farliga ämnen, extrema väderhändelser eller andra allvarliga samhällsstörningar.
Information om ett VMA kan spridas på flera olika sätt samtidigt:
- SE-Alert – ett viktigt meddelande skickas direkt till mobiltelefoner som befinner sig i det drabbade området. Meddelandet visas även om telefonen är låst och kräver ingen app eller registrering.
- Sveriges Radio P4 – den kanal som ansvarar för att sända ut viktig samhällsinformation.
- Krisinformation.se – via webbplats, app och sociala medier.
- SVT och andra medier – kan också förmedla information om händelsen.
- I vissa fall kan även telefonsamtal eller sms användas för att nå personer inom det drabbade området.

The Important Public Announcement (VMA) system is used to quickly warn and inform the public when a serious incident threatens people, property or the environment. If you receive a VMA, it is important to follow the advice and instructions provided.
A VMA may be issued in situations such as major fires, hazardous material releases, extreme weather events or other serious disruptions affecting society.
Information about a VMA may be communicated through several channels at the same time:
- SE-Alert – an emergency alert is sent directly to mobile phones located within the affected area. The message appears even if the phone is locked and does not require an app or registration.
- Sveriges Radio P4 – Sweden’s public emergency radio channel responsible for broadcasting important public information.
- Krisinformation.se – through the website, app and social media channels.
- SVT and other media – may also provide information about the incident.
- Telephone calls or text messages – in some cases, these may be used to reach people within the affected area.
