Europaparlamentet beslutar tillsammans med EU medlemsländer om lagstiftning inom många områden, till exempel klimat och miljö, handel, konsumentskydd, arbetsmarknad, digitalisering och säkerhet. Besluten påverkar både Sverige och Munkfors kommun.
Val till Europaparlamentet hålls vart femte år. När det är dags för val får alla som har rösträtt möjlighet att rösta på de kandidater och partier som de vill ska representera Sverige i Europaparlamentet under de kommande fem åren. Ju fler som röstar, desto starkare blir den demokratiska processen. Nästa EU-val kommer att hållas 2029.

Du har rösträtt om du:
- har fyllt 18 år senast på valdagen
- är svensk medborgare och är eller har varit folkbokförd i Sverige, eller
- är medborgare i ett annat EU-land, är folkbokförd i Sverige och har anmält dig till den svenska röstlängden senast en månad före valet.
När det är dags för val kan du välja att förtidsrösta eller rösta på valdagen. Alla som har rösträtt får ett röstkort med information om var och när de kan rösta.
Om du behöver hjälp att rösta kan du få det på flera sätt. Du kan få hjälp av röstmottagarna i vallokalen, rösta genom bud eller boka ambulerande röstmottagare som kommer hem till dig.
Ja. Svenska medborgare som är bosatta i ett annat EU-land kan ha rätt att rösta i valet till Europaparlamentet. Vad som gäller beror på om du röstar i Sverige eller i det land där du är bosatt.
Ja. Om du är folkbokförd i Sverige och har anmält dig till den svenska röstlängden senast en månad före valet har du rätt att rösta i Sverige.
Om du har medborgarskap i två EU-länder får du bara rösta en gång i valet till Europaparlamentet.

Together with the EU Member States, the European Parliament adopts legislation in many areas, including climate and the environment, trade, consumer protection, employment, digitalisation and security. These decisions affect both Sweden and Munkfors Municipality.
Elections to the European Parliament are held every five years. When an election is held, everyone who is eligible to vote has the opportunity to choose the candidates and political parties they want to represent Sweden in the European Parliament for the next five years. The more people who vote, the stronger the democratic process becomes. The next European Parliament election will be held in 2029.
